Gladys's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a variety of cereals to sell such as corn and beans.

Gladys's story

Living and working in Kerugoya has been challenging, especially for Gladys, a 32-year-old mom.

Gladys is a humble woman who has worked hard to establish herself. She earns an income selling her farm produce such as crops. She also earns a little income from her small businesses. Through these activities, she is able to give her family at least two meals per day.

Despite the prolonged dry seasons and frequent incidences of pests and diseases, which are very intense, Gladys has always looked forward to future accomplishments and success.

Gladys decided that the best way to boost her income is to improve her farm's productivity. She chose to run a side cereals business which is one of the most profitable businesses in the Kerugoya region.

Gladys requested a loan to buy more cereals to sell to her customers to make more profits to support her family. She believes that she will be able to make additional profits by increasing her cereal stock.

This loan is an opportunity that Gladys has never had before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral security were the main issues preventing her from accessing a loan from commercial banks. Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Gladys and her family will be changed for the better.

Gladys is so happy with this gesture of goodwill in her life.
