Mary's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a loan to buy another pig that she will fatten and sell to nearby slaughterhouses.

Mary's story

The Thika area of Kenya, which is in the central region, is home to many smallholder farmers. The greatest challenge that those farmers face is the lack of access to a reliable source of capital. Mary is a 31-year-old mother. She started pig and crop farming a few years ago on a small plot of land that she acquired.

Mary is kindly seeking a loan to buy another pig that she will fatten and sell to nearby slaughterhouses. Loans are hard to come by in Kenya for small farmers with little and irregular income with no solid collateral. A few organizations, such as Juhudi Kilimo, offer support to farmers like Mary.
