A loan helped to buy retail goods to stock up her small shop so she can increase her revenue and better provide for her customers.

Brenda Leinunu's story

Brenda Leinunu lives in a village located on the southern coastline of Efate island on which Port Vila city is located. Her community is quite large, and the main industry is tourism. As Vanuatu's tourism has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic it has been hard for one to earn a steady income.

Brenda Leinunu is 28 years old, happily married and has three beautiful children ages 9, 5 and a baby 3 months old. Her husband travels to New Zealand with the Recognized Seasonal Employers scheme but is still currently in Vanuatu.

Brenda Leinunu has requested a loan to help her purchase retail goods so she can better stock up her small shop so she can provide for her customers. She started her shop with her husband back in 2015. It has helped pay for her children's education and financially stabilize her family. Now she has planned to add more stock to her shop that will help increase her revenue, which she will use to complete her unfinished home.

Brenda Leinunu has been with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd for over three years now. She has successfully repaid her previous loans on time. Brenda Leinunu is motivated to expand her business and become a successful entrepreneur.
