Vaseva's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to set up a canteen selling basic food and houseware items.

Vaseva's story

Vaseva lives in Yako village in the Western Province of Fiji, the hottest province and a place famous for sugarcane farming. The dry soil disallows the growth of many vegetables so people usually depend on canned food items or have to travel to the next city to purchase vegetables.

Accordingly, this mother of three decided that opening a canteen would greatly help the villagers while bringing in more income for her family. Her husband's income earned from sugarcane farming is hardly enough for all their family expenses.

Vaseva hopes to secure a loan so that she can establish her canteen business in her home village home. This will make things more convenient for the people of Yako village and will also help ease her husband's financial burdens.
