but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereals which she plans to resell and make more income for her family.

Carolyne's story

Carolyne is a 40-year-old mother of three children and is a perfect example of a truly hard-working woman. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past ten years. Through farming, she has been able to meet her family’s enormous demands. Cereal trading is one of the most profitable ventures in her home village.

She is seeking this loan to buy cereals which she plans to resell and make more income for her family. Unlike most microfinances in Kenya that have imposed very complicated procedures in funds acquisition, thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for a smallholder farmer easy and convenient.

Through this intervention movement of funds in the rural communities has increased thereby alleviating rural poverty. Carolyne hopes that Kiva lenders will be inspired to support her with a loan today to make her resolutions for the year 2021 achievable.
