Mujeres Al Esfuerzo Group's story
Rumalda is 42 years old. Seventeen years ago she started out, with her own capital, as a small-time trader producing and selling tortillas and pancakes as a street vendor. Using her savings and profits, Rumalda started selling other products too, such as "nacatamales" (maize, meat and rice wrapped in banana leaf), fried snacks, and enchiladas. Now, Rumalda only sells tortillas, nacatamales, and enchiladas.
Rumalda is applying for this loan from Fundenuse, funded by Kiva, to buy the basic supplies that she needs to prepare her dishes. Rumalda's goal is to improve and expand the infrastructure in her home and improve living conditions.
Rumalda is a member of the "Mujeres al esfuerzo" group, alongside Elvin (who provides cargo transportation services) and Josiris (who has a grocery store).
