Bendu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more lappa (wrappers), slippers, and handbags to sell.

Bendu's story

This is 51-year-old Bendu, a widow with 8 children. All of her children are still schooling and live at home. She is a strong businesswoman who sells lappa, slippers, and handbags. She has been operating her sales for several years now. Her late husband gave her money to start the business and she learned how to sell from her mother. She sells Monday through Saturday.

To maintain her business, Bendu requested a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to buy more lappa, slippers, and handbags to sell to her good clients.

She likes her business because sales are profitable and she is proud of her business because it helps to sustain her family.

She dreams of building her house within the future. She is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.
