A loan helped to sell fish and ice cream.

08-Diattacounda Group's story

This group of 23 women forms the banc villageois founded in November 2012. They live in the same village and maintain good relations. They are active in retail in order to improve their living conditions.
Given their solidarity and their dynamism, they work hard to pay back their loans on time.

Oulimata, 43, is the group representative. She is married and has one son; she also cares for two other children. She is shown alone in the picture out of respect for the limiting measures posed by the covid-19 pandemic. With her new loan, she plans to buy fresh fish to resell. She also sells ice cream. With the generated income, she will add to her savings and care for her own needs and those of her family.
