A loan helped to start an agro vet store which will generate more income to support her family.

Sheila's story

Sheila is a 41-year-old mother of three children living in Eldoret, a town that was significantly struck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred in Kenya. She is a mixed farmer who has farmed for the past fifteen years. Through farming, she has given her family a solid reputation.

Sheila is seeking this loan to start an agro vet store which will generate more income to support her family. Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centers, Juhudi Kilimo (a Kiva field partner) has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans. Sheila is hopeful that Kiva lenders are going to support her with this loan as the world joins hands to combat Covid-19.
