Mariam's loan finished fundraising,

A loan helped to purchase silver fish to sell.

Mariam's story

Mariam is a 30-year-old lady who is married with two children and one dependent. She is a permanent resident of Kavule Village in Buikwe District.

Mariam sells silver fish as her main source of income around Kavule, Kikondo, which is her permanent place of living. Mariam’s intention is to expand her business of silver fish so she believes she will earn more income and then be able to fully support her family and see her children through school.

Mariam started her business three years ago but the only challenge she has is limited capital to expand her business to the level she wants it to be.

Mariam got a loan worth three hundred thousand shillings (300,000 UGX) from UGAFODE Microfinance Limited so as to help her meet the challenge of limited capital that she faces since she has just recovered from sickness for long that made her not work. She hopes to get back to the level she had reached so that she can better her standard of living.
