A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as high-quality seeds and fertilizers to help improve productivity of this mom's corn farm.

Prisca's story

Get to know Prisca (22), a mom who is practical and resourceful. Faced with unemployment, she started practicing mixed farming a few years ago. It is through Prisca’s perseverance and courage that her children have a respectable life.

She grows maize, by which she has been able to earn a decent and honest income. Although Prisca has been making profits through farming, not everything has been easy for this humble and industrious mother. Her farm has not been producing an optimal harvest, due to pests and diseases and a lack of fertilizer and good seeds.

Modern agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic, creating the upgraded inputs used in the sector today, so there is need to use improved farming inputs for effective production. Therefore, Prisca is seeking a loan of 30,000 KES to buy farm inputs, such as high-quality seeds and fertilizers, to improve productivity. Prisca’s plan is to increase her farming and save money to buy more farmland.
