Sector El Cruce Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy skirts, blouses, sashes, and tablecloths to sell.

Sector El Cruce Group's story

The four women in the group Sector El Cruce live in Caserío Chuisanto, Nahualá, Sololá, Guatemala. They are all married and have one to three school-age children each. Two went to school through sixth grade, one through second grade, and one to middle school. They all wear traditional clothing and speak both Spanish and the Mayan language Quiche.

They all have businesses buying and selling traditional clothing. They are starting their first cycle with the Namaste Creating Prosperity Program and are eager for the financial literacy classes and advice from a personal business advisor.

Vilma is 25 and married, with a 10-year-old son in third grade. She went to middle school for two years. For four years she has had a business selling traditional clothing. She buys items from wholesalers and sells them door-to-door. She will use her loan to buy skirts, blouses, sashes, and tablecloths. Her short-term goal is to increase the variety of the items she sells. Her long-term goal is to have a stall in the local market from which to sell her clothing.

Her monthly net profit as she starts the program is 1,850 GTQ ($240). She hopes to increase that to Q2, 635 ($342) by the end of the cycle.
