Stella's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy different varieties of cereals, such as corn, beans, and rice, to sell at the local market and generate a profit to support her family.

Stella's story

Stella, who is 42 years old and a mom of four school-going children, has been a dairy and crop farmer for more than a decade. This is her sole source of income.

She has gained a lot of knowledge, skills, and experience, which is why other farmers seek advice from her about the best planting seasons, crop and animal diseases, and farming methods. Stella lives with her husband, who is the apple of her eye, and her family in a remote village in Vihiga. Although she makes a profit from dairy and crop farming, she is not living comfortably and has always wanted to increase her income by selling cereals.

Kenya's Siongiroi area, one of the country's most populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. Stella is requesting a loan to buy cereals to help satisfy the constantly-rising demand. Thanks to her hard work and commitment, Stella is going to make the best of this opportunity to earn more income for her family. Stella's goal is to earn enough profits to repay this loan and pay her children's school fees.
