Tules's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a larger electric sewing machine to accommodate larger orders and better provide for her customers.

Tules's story

Tules lives in a village located about a 20-minute drive off Port Vila city. Her community is very large and the main industry is agriculture and tourism. As Vanuatu has lost the majority of its employment due to Covid-19, it can be hard to earn a stable income.

Tules is 48 years of age and has three children ages 26, 16 and 3. She is married and her husband is a bus driver. She lives with her husband and children in an apartment.

Tules has requested a loan to help her purchase a larger electric sewing machine that can help her complete large amounts of customer orders, especially during special occasions or festivals. She has always loved sewing. She started her business back in 1996 and has also had a catering business, which she started in 1999.

She will use the revenue earned to purchase land and build her family their dream home. Tules dreams of opening up her own storefront so she can sell her garments to the locals and tourists. This is her third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She successfully repaid her previous loans on time. Tules is empowered to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
