Salanieta
Salanieta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase a bale of kava, and essential items, like a scale, plastic containers and packaging materials.
Salanieta's story
Salanieta and her family live in the secluded community of Naboro. Just like many people in Fiji and the Pacific, the people in Naboro love to sit down together almost every evening to enjoy a basin of kava, but ever since the last kava supplier moved away, their favorite recreational activity has stopped.
Kava is a plant that is harvested after years of planting and is dried and pounded into fine powder before it is mixed with water and drank. Salanieta hopes to get a loan, so that she can purchase bales of dried kava and have them pounded and packed in order to once again supply kava to the people in her community and also make profits.
She also hopes to purchase things, like a measuring scale, plastic containers and packaging materials for her kava business.
