Noela's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy Digicel Top Up to supply phone-to-phone credit which will better provide for her customers.

Noela's story

Noela lives in a rural district about 15 to 20 minutes drive to Port Vila city. Her community is very small and the main industry is agriculture. It has been difficult during the COVID-19 pandemic for one to earn a stable income.

Noela is 27 years of age with four children aged 15, 11, 10 and 8. She has a partner who does fruit picking in the Seasonal Worker Programme in Australia. Her partner is currently still in Vanuatu. She lives with her partner and children in their own home.

Noela has requested a loan to buy Digicel Top Up to supply her customers with phone-to-phone credit. She started her business back in 2017. She also sells cigarettes at her mother's kava bar, which helps provide another income into her household.

With the revenue earned, she will save up to purchase a bus to provide public transport. Noela dreams of expanding her business to open up her own storefront to provide for passers-by, both local and tourists. She feels motivated to become a successful businesswoman.
