Lavonesse's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more veggies from smallholder farmers in her community to supply to the market and earn income in order to feed her family.

Lavonesse's story

Lavonesse is a 34-year-old Mozambican woman. She is married and lives with her husband and their five lovely children. Lavonesse and her husband are very well known in their community among smallholder farmers as well as agrodealers.

Through her business, Lavonesse supports many farmers, including youth and women, since she has good contacts with inputs suppliers, from whom she buys the necessary inputs to supply to the smallholder farmers. On the other hand, Lavonesse aggregates the crops from the small producers to sell in the market for a good price.

This ability for business allowed Lavonesse to conquer her own space in the market as well as to successfully repay back two Kiva loans. Since the demand is continuously growing, Lavonesse needs to acquire more crops to faithfully supply to the market. This is why she is requesting her third Kiva loan to buy more veggies from smallholder farmers in her community to supply to the market and earn income in order to feed her family.
