Elsie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase plain fabric, fabric paint and sewing materials to sew new garments to better provide for her customers and increase her income.

Elsie's story

Elsie is 57 years old, She is happily married to a retired police officer. She has four grown-up children. She lives with her children and husband in their own home located in a village that is about 10 minutes drive to Port Vila's international airport. Elsie's community is quite large, and the main industry is agriculture. Life in the village is not so hard as she plants her food to eat but earning a little income during this Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge.

Elsie has requested a loan to help her purchase plain fabric, fabric paints and sewing materials so she can make new garments to better provide for her customers. Elsie has been sewing for the past 20 years. She learnt it all from her mother. She makes her sales through Facebook and also has her daughter selling in a handicraft market in Port Vila city. This is Elsie's second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has faithfully repaid her previous loan on time. Now Elsie feels motivated to make her business grow so she can become a successful entrepreneur.
