Mujeres De Amistad Yepocapa Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a variety of nutritional health care products.

Mujeres De Amistad Yepocapa Group's story

Dina, a 26 year old married woman, has developed her own business selling health care products. Her husband is a day laborer and the couple works hard to support their home.

Dina’s business is becoming more and more popular. After careful planning, she is requesting her second Kiva loan to buy aloe vera, nutritional shakes, fiber and collagen to offer to her customers. She will set aside some of her income for the future that hopefully will include children of her own.

Dina, along with ten other ladies, participate in monthly educational sessions at their Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Mujeres de Amistad Yepocapa”. These sessions are part of the “plus” in the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education, and health care services. Learning about effective business management practices helps them with their animal husbandry businesses, convenience stores, tortilla shops and sales of health products. They also learn about family matters, women’s issues and health including how to navigate through the pandemic. Every two months, the women have access to basic health care services and exams delivered by a visiting nurse. This is especially important because the health care system in Guatemala is very poor and often, these ladies would be left behind.

Dina and her friends send their gratitude to Kiva investors from all parts of the world for funding their much needed loans. Thank you!
