Lilian's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs that she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family.

Lilian's story

This is Lilian, who is a first-time Kiva borrower. She is a 35-year-old mother of four living in Kapsowar, a town that was significantly affected by the 2007–2008 Kenyan violence crisis.

Lilian has been farming for 30 years. She is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs that she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing.
