Emma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase bags of cement to renovate her kava bar and food stall to better provide for her customers.

Emma's story

Emma lives in an urban district located about 10 to 15 minutes drive from Port Vila city. Her community is quite large. It has one of the best schools in Vanuatu, and its main industry is food.

Emma provides kava bars and a food stall for her customers, earning income from them, so things have been fair. Emma is 52 years of age and has five children, of whom four are grown and the youngest is still in college. She lost her husband back in 2019 due to an illness. She lives with her children in her own home.

Emma has requested a loan to help her purchase bags of cement to renovate her kava bar and food stall, which she has provided for her customers for the past decade. Emma wants to build permanent buildings that can better safeguard her customers and better provide for them as well. Emma will use the revenue earned to build home units to produce more income.

This is Emma's fourth loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been faithful in completing her previous loans. Through her loans, Emma is empowered to expand her business and become a successful entrepreneur.
