04-Lejitimos De Callapa Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand their business.

04-Lejitimos De Callapa Group's story

The communal bank 04 Lejitimas de Callapa is part of Agencia Villa Copacabana and is composed of ten members who are friends. The bank is led by a board of directors, and Mery is the president.

The loan they are requesting will benefit small micro-entrepreneurs, one of which is Mery. She currently has a business as a street vendor selling vegetables. She says that she started this business on her mother's initiative 20 years ago.

The loan that she's taking out now will be used to increase her buying capital for wholesale vegetables, which she will purchase from wholesale vendors in La Paz after the items have been marketed through their point of sale.

This form of work allows her to generate income. She is 32 years old and has a common-law marriage and four children. Her aspirations are to grow her business and buy a house and land.

Note: Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the entire communal bank is not pictured. Only three people appear in the photo in an effort avoid a gathering of people.
