Devin's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped us build our kitchen in Temple, TX and to grow our small business.

Devin's story

As an immigrant and children of Taiwanese and Chinese immigrants to the United States, we grew up valuing the ways food and tea build community through our ethnic background and culture. Living and growing up overseas and with Asian immigrant parents helped us to witness the importance of diversity. As a result, we built our business - Waco Cha - with a mission to bridge cultures and create community through premium Taiwanese and Chinese food and drinks. Through Waco Cha, we have not only been able to share our own culture with the Waco community, but we have also been able to invite others into our journey in Temple and surrounding communities. In the past 2 years, our dream became a reality and we have since grown from a pop-up boba tea tent at the Waco Downtown Farmer's Market to a mobile tea truck and now our first downtown Waco Cha storefront. Our first shop opened in the midst of the pandemic and throughout 2020, we continued to be envisioned to bridge cultures and create a community in Waco and beyond. We now have the opportunity to continue Waco Cha's mission in Temple, Texas, and to build out our second storefront in downtown Temple. Our community (or communiTEA as we like to say!) has come together in support of our mission & values and we are eager to continue to walk out in celebrating diverse food, drinks, and cultures through our business.
