Rachael's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her horticulture business.

Rachael's story

Rachael is 38 years old and very determined to give her family a better life. She has one school-going child whom she loves and all.

Rachael has been supporting her family through mixed dairy and crop farming for the past few years. Her work discipline and commitment are her most precious assets.

Rachael is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her horticulture business. Horticultural products are among the most in-demand commodities in her home village.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Rachael is hopeful that as the world struggles to combat Covid-19, Kiva lenders will be inspired to support her with a loan.
