A loan helped to buy seeds to get a good harvest that will better provide for her customers and increase her income.

Arnet's story

Arnet lives in a rural district that is a 20-minute drive from Port Vila city. Her community is a large area and the main industry is agriculture. It has been hard to earn a stable income due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Arnet is 48 years old and happily married to a farmer. Her husband supports her in their farm by doing most of the heavy work. Arnet has three lovely children aged 28, 15, and 13. She lives with her children and husband in their own home.

Arnet has asked for a loan to help purchase seeds to get a good harvest this year. She wants to plant different vegetables that grow in different seasons. This will help increase her income, which she will use to start a retail shop. With the extra income, Arnet can provide the best education for her children and a better living for her family. This is Arnet's third loan with South Pacific Business Development - Vanuatu. She has been successful in completing her previous loans on time. Through the loans, Arnet feels empowered to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
