Chance Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on 114 salted fish, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Chance Group's story

Marie Louise is a client with the microfinance institution Hekima and represents the village group Chance. She is 39 years old, married and has seven children who are all enrolled in school; her husband is unemployed.

She established her business selling fish 5 years ago using start-up funds she obtained from her mother-in-law. Later she got involved with the Hekima program to support her business, which has been developing progressively. With this new loan, she will stock up wholesale on 114 salted fish, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to conservation.

She would like her children to continue their studies and wants to build a house. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support shown to business owners without access to traditional banking facilities in the context of the global crisis caused by covid-19.

The photo shows only the group representative because of covid-19 restrictions in compliance with social distancing measures.
