A loan helped to purchase drinks and other assorted items to increase her business.

Fatmata's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 48-year-old Fatmata from Aberdeen branch. She is married with three children between the ages of 7 and 19 years old and two of them are attending school. She started this business to be financially stable to support herself.

Fatmata runs a retail shop and sells drinks and other assorted items. She has been in this business for the past seven years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID 19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase drinks and other assorted items to increase her business. Fatmata says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and in taking care of her family welfare and her children’s education.

In the future, she would like to establish into a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
