Fatmata's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 42-year-old Fatmata from Aberdeen. She is married and has four children between the ages of 19 and 27 years old, one of whom is attending school. She started her business to be financially stable and support herself.

Fatmata runs a retail shop and sells fast food and assorted other items. She has been in this business for the past 10 years. Her other source of income is her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes due to COVID-19.

Fatmata requested this loan from BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food and assorted other items to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her improve her business and take care of her family and her children’s education. In the future, Fatmata would like to grow her business further. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
