Maria Magdalena's story

Maria Magdalena and her family live in La Sequita de Montecristi, an area known for the famous straw panama hats which are recognised both within the country and internationally. The locals also make a living through agriculture.
Maria Magdalena has a small farm at her house where she rears and sells chickens and pigs. She keeps them until they reach a good enough size and weight to sell them. She sells the pigs live and when asked she butchers the chickens and sells them by weight, by the pound. She usually sells them to traders who come to her house and also to her neighbours. At first, she was badly affected by the health crisis as she could not sell, but now she is building her business back up little by little to continue earning a living. This loan is to buy compound animal feed, vitamins, chickens and small pigs. Her dream is to have a pig farm and that her family stay healthy.
