Vilma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to sow roughly 5 hectares of beans.
Vilma's story
Vilma is an enterprising woman who is dedicated to cultivating coffee and basic grains, plus raising cattle. In addition to agriculture, she also teaches grammar school in her community. With a teacher's income plus her agricultural crops, she is able to help her children who depend upon her.
Vilma invested her last loan in purchasing 2 calving heifers. Now, she is requesting another loan, this time to sow nearly 5 hectares of beans. This financing will be used to buy fertilizers (roughly 1,000 lbs. of urea and some 200 lbs. of manure), and to purchase inputs to apply to her bean crop.
Vilma is very grateful to Kiva and Aldea Global for the loans they have facilitated. Investing in agriculture has made it possible for her to generate additional income for her nuclear family.
