Viola's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and seeds, and improve her crop production, in order to sell the crops and use the increased profits to improve her living standards.

Viola's story

Viola is a 30-year-old mother of 2 school-going children and lives in Nandihiils area. This is a place where every Kiva lender would like to be. There is a beautiful climate and it is possible to observe the Great Valley escarpment and other staggering hills in the region.

Viola is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past few years enabling her to support her family. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Viola is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family. Support her at this time when the world is focused on combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
