A loan helped to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her farm production, which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Metrine's story

Meet Metrine. She is a 47-year-old living in Kitale, a place where every Kiva lender would like to be to enjoy the beautiful climate and observe the Great Rift Valley in Kenya and other staggering hills in the region. She practices mixed farming.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is the lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Metrine is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her farm production, which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Be inspired, and support Metrine with a loan today.
