A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her production and earn more income to support her family.

Dorothy's story

Dorothy is a hard-working woman who has mastered the art of fighting failure. She is 57 years old and lives in Thika, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly crops and pineapple. Dorothy has been a mixed farmer for the past 12 years to comfortably support her family.

She is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs to improve her production and earn more income to support her family. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Be inspired to support Dorothy, especially during this time when the world is focused on fighting COVID-19.
