Stella's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as certified quality seed and fertilizer, to improve her crop farming.

Stella's story

Greetings from Eldoret, Kenya.

Stella (a 36-year-old mom of 5 school-going children) is a hardworking farmer from a remote village in the Eldoret area of Kenya. She is a borrower who has a great credit history. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a good-quality education. She is always working to improve her family's living conditions.

Stella has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock. She also earns additional income from a personal business. She never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle. The Eldoret area is a favorable one for farming.

Stella requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 60,000 KES, which she will use to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her area, is very challenging, but Stella feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself.

Stella is thankful to Juhudi Kilimo and its lenders for this financial assistance, which will help her attain a secure future.
