A loan helped to buy a variety of cereals, including maize and beans, to sell at the local market.

Grace's story

Grace is a 48-year old mother of three children living in Kitale, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past eight years.

Although Grace has been making profits from farming, she has identified a market for selling cereals. The only challenge she faces in this endeavor is a lack of funds. Grace is requesting a loan to buy a variety of cereals, including maize and beans, to sell at the local market. The market for cereals is never a problem, because the demand is always high, and Grace plans to take advantage of that. Her marketing skills will enable her to be able to attract many customers. This is not just a loan to Grace. It is an opportunity to give a mom a way to elevate her standard of living and eventually take her out of poverty.
