Susan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereal grains (beans and maize) to sell in her village market, and as a mom, use the profits to support her children.

Susan's story

Susan (51) is a mother of three school-going children who push her to work an extra mile for their satisfaction. She is an enthusiastic woman living in Eldoret, a town in Kenya that hosts a number of elite athletes.

She has been a mixed farmer for the past few years. With her good farm management skills, she has been able to achieve great success on her farm. As a woman, Susan is very focused on making her life meaningful. She obtains her income through dairy farming and crop production.

Being the only breadwinner in her house, Susan decided to start a cereal business with a loan that she obtained from Juhudi Kilimo. The business is growing and she is getting new customers. She is very creative and has the ability to come up with unique new responses to situations. Susan has the insight to recognize and take up useful new approaches to farming.

She is seeking this loan to buy cereal grains to sell to her customers and earn extra income. Kenya's Eldoret area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Susan could increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there. Accessing funds has been a challenge for her, but since she joined Juhudi, in partnership with Kiva, she feels relieved and happy that her life has been transformed. Kindly lend to this determined woman.
