Jacques's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds to run his market garden and to sell vegetables.

Jacques's story

Jacques lives in Mali. He is 45 years old and literate. He is married and the father of ten children, of whom five go to school. He has done market gardening for more than fifteen years. He has done twelve cycles with the group and is now on his second loan cycle as an individual with RMCR for an amount of 475,000 FCFA. He buys inputs (seeds and fertilizer) in the rural markets of his region and resells market garden products in the same regional markets. The profits he generates permit him to take care of his family's expenses (health, education, clothes, etc). His wife also does market gardening. The problems he faces often are the failure of nurseries, damage caused by certain insects, drying up of wells, and poor sales.

He made recourse to RMCR to avoid loans from neighbors. In the future, he wants to continue to work with RMCR to generate more profits to meet his familial expenses for the well-being of the family and to manage his market garden. What pleases him about market gardening is the profile it generates in order to support his family's needs.
