Elba Lucila's story

Elba Lucila and her family live in La Pila de Montecristi, a very well-known place in the province and in the country for its rich cultural heritage, but which has been very negatively impacted by the effects of Covid-19 on the economy, as well as the loss of lives.

She and her husband struggle day by day to earn a living, and although things are complicated, they keep hoping for improvements. She has a workshop in which she fashions all sorts of figurines and ornaments. The quarantine affected Elba Lucila a lot, because for a long time she and her husband could make no sales. They sell to tourists who come through the area, and some days there was no transportation and sales were minimal. Currently the situation has improved and sales are almost at the level they were previously.

This loan is for the purchase of raw material for making her handicrafts.
