A loan helped to buy more cereals to sell to her customers in order to make more profits to support her family.

Janeth's story

Janeth is a 41-year-old mother living in Bomet. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past ten years. Despite the prolonged dry seasons and frequent incidences of pests and diseases, which are very intense, Janeth has always looked forward to future accomplishments and success. Janeth decided that the best way to boost her income is to improve her farm's productivity. She chose to run a side cereal business, which is one of the most profitable in the Bomet region.

Janeth requested a loan to buy more cereals to sell to her customers, in order to make more profits to support her family. Janeth believes that she will be able to make additional profit by increasing her cereal stock. This loan is an opportunity that Janeth never had before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral security were the main issues preventing her from accessing a loan from commercial banks.

Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Janeth and her family will be changed for the better. Janeth is so happy with this gesture of goodwill in her life.
