Karina Paola's story

Karina is a 35-year-old entrepreneurial woman who lives in the city of Barranquilla, a place where she has owned a store and has sold food as her business for approximately five years.

Karina Paola started this business because she did not have any work opportunities and because of her desire to get her family ahead. She offers her services daily to people in neighboring sectors, neighbors, and friends among others.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, her business's profits and sales were strongly diminished since she had to close her store earlier each day due to health concerns. This is why she joined the Barranquilla Responds program, led by the chamber of commerce, to take out her first Kiva loan with the Santo Domingo Foundation so she could to increase her business's work capital and buy merchandise like bags of rice, eggs, oil, snacks, and soft drinks among other things to increase her business's sales and profits.

Please consider supporting her with her business loan.
