Priscillah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer to boost the quality of her produce, increase her profits, and elevate her standard of living.

Priscillah's story

Priscillah, a 43-year-old mom of two school-going children, is a hardworking, progressive, and honest farmer from a very remote village in the Nyeri area of Kenya. This area is very fertile, with favorable weather patterns that support farming activities. Priscillah is married, and she is a proud mother who obtains her income by selling crop produce.

Kiva's field partner Juhudi Kilimo has extended its services to the remote villages in the Nyeri area, and its staff is keen to ensure that hardworking smallholder women like Priscillah benefit from loans that should enable them to purchase assets and farming inputs. She is seeking a 45,000 KES loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides.

Quality farm inputs will help to improve her production and attract more buyers, leading to more income. She plans to use her profits to repay the loan.
