A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her production and make more profits to support her family.

Rose's story

Rose is 32 years old and lives in Nyeri, a place where every Kiva lender would like to be, enjoying the beautiful climate, observing the Great Mount Kenya and other staggering hills in the region. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has been actively involved in her farming business for the past ten years.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is in the front line in combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period.

Rose is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she plans to use to improve her production and make more profits to support her family. Juhudi Kilimo is a key player in the Kenyan agricultural sector serving to support farmers and micro-entrepreneurs financially thus ensuring sustenance and business continuity. Rose is hopeful that Kiva lenders will support her with a loan as the world struggles to combat COVID-19.
