Yessica's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to plant cassava and cocoyam, providing food security and economic opportunities in rural communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yessica's story

Meet Yessica,

Yessica lives with her husband in rural East Panama. She works on a cassava and cocoyam farm. She has been able to yield several products in the last five years, selling them afterwards in both her own community and also communities nearby. Apart from this, Yessica raises pigs and chickens. She is known for being not only very hard working but also responsible and punctual with her loans. Yessica has taken out smaller loans in the local community bank before and has repaid them all punctually.

Fieldwork is not easy, but Yessica has been able to overcome several barriers, such as the misconception that fieldwork is a type of work that only men can do. She has proved that with the help of her family she is capable of doing this and so much more.

Today, she is requesting a loan to invest in her cassava and cocoyam farm she is expanding, for which she needs to buy seeds and fertilizer.

Thank you for being a part of this loan to Yessica and providing financial inclusion to rural women during the COVID-19 pandemic.
