Pedro's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand his pigsty and buy two pigs for breeding, providing economic opportunities in rural communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pedro's story

Meet Pedro!

He is a young and very proactive individual who lives in the rural community of Santa Librada, East Panama.

Apart from being a part-time mechanic, Pedro currently runs a small farm where he plants plantain, cassava and cocoyam. Recently he started raising pigs nearby his home. This new business has been quite successful and the demand has increased over the last year. Hence, he's planning to invest and expand this promising business.

With this loan, Pedro is aiming to expand his pigsty and buy two pigs for breeding, increasing his current capacity and hopefully doubling the household income of his young family.

Pedro is married and has two children. He's known in his community for being responsible, charming and hard working.

Thank you for contributing to Pedro's first Kiva loan and support financial inclusion in rural communities that have been historically excluded from basic financial services.
