Laniana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a small chainsaw, firewood and fuel, particularly kerosene and diesel.

Laniana's story

Laniana understands that gas is expensive and not everyone in Viani owns a gas stove and even if they did, they rarely use it. Most Fijian households still have a separate cooking place outside the kitchen where they use firewood to cook food that takes long to cook foods such as cassava, or taro or to simmer meat.

Taking this into consideration, Laniana decided that she would sell firewood and fuels such as kerosene and diesel as most people also own kerosene stoves and purchase diesel for things like brush cutters and power generators and she kindly requests a loan so that she is able to turn her vision into a reality.

With a loan, Laniana can purchase a small chainsaw for herself so that she can easily cut wood and she also hopes to purchase fuels in large quantities such as a 200 litre drums of each so she would not have to continuously purchase 20 litre gallons of them. She believes that her business will be a success and she is willing to work harder to provide for family.
