A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers, to improve her farm production.

Regina's story

Regina, a 42-year-old mom of four school-going children, is a rural smallholder farmer from Bomet, an area endowed with natural beauty. Her family's main income sources are milk from their dairy farm and crop farming.

The biggest problem being faced by farmers from Bomet is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs, meaning those farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholder farmers around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Bomet like Regina now can buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Regina is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers, to improve her farm production. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for crop in the market, and in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family. A loan to her will be vital to achieving food security in her home during this period of global economic recession.
