Samuel's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as a solar light.

Samuel's Group's story

Pictured above is Samuel, often described as an extremely experienced farmer. He is 55 years old and, as a group leader, he is representing his group of 19 farmers in Teso District, Kenya. He married and has seven children.

Samuel is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund so that he can earn enough to feed his family, which is why he decided to join in the first place. Samuel says that he is happy to have made that decision because, since he first joined in 2015, he has been able to consistently feed his family, which has improved his day-to-day life significantly. Samuel will use the profits from this season to buy a cow.

The group will use this loan to purchase a total of two solar lights as well as enough seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 11.75 acres.
