Philex's Group's story

Pictured above is Philex, who is often described as an extremely hardworking individual. He is 48 years old and has 7 children. As a group leader, he is representing 16 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Philex is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund because this means that he is able to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds, which is why he decided to join in the first place. Philex says that he is happy to have made that decision because, since he first joined in 2015, he has had a healthier life due to better nutrition, which has improved his day-to-day life significantly. Philex will use the profits from this season to send his children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant 10.5 acres. The group will also receive one solar light.
