María is 20 years old. She is the mother of one child. Four years ago, she began butchering pigs and working with all of its related by-products, making and selling chicharrones [pork cracklings] and chanfaina [a stew made with offal]. She had the support of her husband, who started the business with her. They started out as street vendors, and now sell meat from their own shop.

She is requesting a loan with Fundenuse and Kiva funds to buy two pigs butcher. Her goal is to improve to the infrastructure of her house, better the living conditions at home, and grow her business.

She belongs to the “En Dios Confiamos Martha Quezada” communal bank along with Jakeling, who is a tailor, and Jamileth, who butchers pigs.
