Jemillah's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Jemillah's Group's story

Jemillah, pictured above, has been a farmer for five years, and is now proud to represent her group of 10 farmers in Mumias District. She is 45 years old, married and has four children.

Jemillah likes to think of herself as a very resourceful person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2016 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has gained a lot of respect in her community. Jemillah plans to use the profits from this coming season to rent more land to cultivate.

In total, Jemillah’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate three acres of land. With this loan, one member of the group will also purchase a solar light.
